West Englewood United Organization
Service Connectors is one of the City of Chicago’s Department of Human Services (DHS),
13 agencies which have been designated as “service connectors” and
have been given contracts for their services for
the next 3 years.
As part of the City’s
DHS, service connectors program, West Englewood
United Organization Service Connectors responsibility
is to connect individuals and families with employment,
job training, and health care and other
services they need to make the transition to self-sufficiency.
West Englewood United Organization Service Connectors
has an extraordinary process of placing families
at the center of the decisions and focusing on results while incorporating
a depth of experience
and diversity of view rarely found.
It is the role of the West Englewood United Organization
Service Connectors to connect those CHA lease holders
who have left their former developments with the
services they need to improve their life
and employment skills as the former CHA resident’s transition into
housing in the broader community or into newly developed
CHA-financed mixed income communities. W.E.U.O, along
with the 13 agencies operates
a total of 37 offices spread across the city.
Clara’s House Case Managers are responsible for insuring that the
clients meet the following goals: Families are stable,
Families have more housing choices in the community,
Families have more household income
and that Families are involved in the West Englewood
and Englewood Communities. Case managers develop
action plans for each household and assist them
in job searches for subsequent employment.
One special feature of our job search activities
for our clients is our quarterly “Job Fair” in which fifty
or more businesses are invited to set up displays
and to distribute job applications to job seekers.
